ERBLAN Surgical was incorporated in 2001 after ten years of developing a strong intellectual property portfolio that includes our Trocar, Insufflator Needle and Universal Gas Seal.

Life threatening complications from laparoscopic surgery (MIS) happen in approximately six per thousand cases. Too often they can be reduced or eliminated. Trocars and needles used today are frequently driven across the abdominal wall blindly, and, regardless of surgical expertise, accidents happen. Five percent of these puncture injuries are fatal. MIS is in dire need for truly safer devices.

By using the ERBLAN safety technology, these risks can be dramatically reduced and in some instances eliminated. The research literature provides compelling statistics that highlight the need for the ERBLAN safety devices not only in the United States but globally.

ERBLAN Surgical designed, developed and prototyped the Trocar, Insufflator Needle and Universal Gas Seal, and is emerging as a global leader in surgical device technology. We have built a strong intellectual property portfolio comprised of United States and Foreign Utility and Design Patents.

Our strategic direction is to build on our core competencies, which include the design, development, and commercialization of safer medical devices.
